Two people were killed and others injured in Guerrero. Here in the DF it was like a trampoline, a shaker not a roller. Electricity is still out in some 70 colonias, although we (obviously) have power here in la Condesa. Go over to the Mexico City board and read the thread.

Glad you are okay over there in Nayarit.

We felt the quake fairly strongly here in Cuernavaca last night. We are about 80 or 90 Km west of Mexico City. The mountains were also making a fairly laud rumbling noise too. Mountains do make strange noises during an earthquake.

I was born and raised in The Napa Valley In California. So I am used to very frequent earthquakes. I never get too disturbed by them, but you never know when it might be a bad one.

When I looked up, the walls at the top were swaying, and the ceiling was moving up and down. That is a little worrisome in a masonry house in a country that has virtually no building codes, or licensing for contractors, or tradesmen.

My late wife's mother, my suegra ,is staying with me, it scared her quite a bit, she lost her house in the 1985 earthquake in Mexico City. It took several years to clean up and repair, or rebuild all of the collapsed buildings, and to recover all of the bodies after that one. I have never stayed in a high rise hotel here since then. Call me chicken, but most of the collapsed buildings I saw then were hotels.

Our two little dogs got up and came over to look up at me. They know their Papi can fix everything. So I stopped the quake for them.

We didn't lose power, cable, or telephone service. When I stop a quake, I do it right :)
