Why not a singles forum?

Can't Post | Private Reply
I did a search on "singles groups" and nothing, then "singles" and found only one post and a few replies.

I just bought a house outside of Chapala in Vista del Lago and will be coming down there as a single. I thought my g/f would come with me but she wants to stay in California to puruse an acting career.

I'm sure there are other singles who would like to have more than a haphazard chance of meeting someone to possibly connect with.

So why not a singles forum for the Lakeside area? Costs nothing more to put on and could be a real help.

Maybe pass this thought on to the "powers which be" at this site?

Just 2 pesos worth from a single male who will be there soon.

Thanks.

Although I have been out of the singles market for 43 years now, if I were you I would first try the same thing that Shoe has done for newcomers. Pick a date and announce it well in advance on the Ajijic forum and try some get togethers at a local watering hole.

I think that's a very viable idea though it will surely be a hit or miss thing. People may be busy or what whatever, but I sure won't discount the idea. I just feel the "matchmaker" type Board/Forum is an easy way to get details across such as physical description, what one is looking for and the fact I can't dance (bet I'll lose a lot of chances there) and don't drink. But this is not to say we can't have both.

I noticed the idea didn't get much play when it was alluded to in latter 2003.

Thanks.

Personally, I think you are fretting too much (to say nothing of jumping the gun). Like Uncle Jack said, get to the town and get out and socialize. You will find that people know people. Relax. This is Mexico and magical things happen here.

We've been down that trail a couple of times before, and there will no new forums dedicated to gender orientation, mate searches or lifestyle options. Nor to readers or gardeners or politicians.

There is already a resource on this site, and it's MexicoConnect's classifieds at
http://www.mexconnect.com/...ieds/classifieds.cgi, wherein under "Personals," you will find sections dedicated to Men for Women, Women for Men, Men for Men, Women for Women, Traveling Companions, Just Friends, Missed Connections and Other.

Take Uncle Jack's advice, and set up an event when you arrive in Lakeside. There may even be some existing singles groups which would welcome your participation. It's my understanding that unattached members of the male species are in short supply in that locale, so you may not have to do that much searching.

A single, presumably available, interested heterosexual male--move to San Miguel and you'll be the answer to lots of prayers.

I can understand banning forums on the lifestyles - gender - dating - politics - but why not gardening?

you guys have cooking and that has oodles of variables - simply curious.....

Gardening

Posts relevant to gardening in Mexico are always welcome. Feel free to discuss gardening issues here, in the kitchen forum (for ktichen gardens), the construction forum (for landscaping issues), or in any of the region-specific fora (for gardening topics specifically relevant to a certain locale).

Put it even more bluntly

If you are an ambulatory, single, straight guy who can see lightening, hear thunder, and put more than three words together into a coherent sentence, you should be able to stay as actively engaged as you can stand.
