What's the local cure for sick stomach?

Had a little bout of it last night, first since moving here in February. Dry heaves and small case of the runs. Feel better this morning though. Any homeopathic remedies out there? Thanks, Miguelito

Me too except skip the OJ. Just returned from Texas where The Bubba got sick as a dog from eating in their restaurants. Watch out when you go up there. I don't think the food handlers always wash their hands after pooping.

Has anyone noticed that Mexicans seem to be obsessive hand washers?

Don't take remedies such as Imodium which simply clog the system. Let her run! Drink lots of fluids. Hot teas are soothing. Add lime juice, which tends to kill unfriendly bugs. Same thing with chiles. Your stomach problems shouldn't last very long.

The worst cases of stomach upset we experience since we moved to Mexico have been when we return to the US. Long JOhn Silver's is a killer. I think that is because when we are in Mexico we seldom eat anything that is deep fried.

Interesting to note I ate in the last 2 days so don't what caused this all of a sudden. Lots of yogurt seems to help too, I've noticed.

I should have thought of this earlier. I think the reason I didn't mention it was that you were far past the papaya and/or papaya seed point, in my uninformed opinion. Papaya is a good digestive aid. The seeds are especially strong. I have used them from time to time. It is my untutored belief eating papaya every morning is not only fun, it's good, it's cheap more or less, and it helps prevent or control minor bad situations before they may arise. If you get ahead of consumption in papaya buying just turn to agua de papaya to level out supply.

I also carry activated charcoal and bentonite clay (my kilo of dirt - special dirt - Dakota dirt). I would have used those two things in your case, using the assumption that what you had was food poisoning.

The last thing in the bag is Cipro, which is not used until a little list of citeria is met (which I consult).
