US National Cemetery in Mexico City

There is in Mexico City a US military cemetery established in 1851 were are buried the remains of 750 unidentified soldiers of the Mexican-American war of 1847. This was the first US military cemetery established on foreign soil.

Interesting! This must be one of relatively few military cemeteries located in a foreign country against whose citizens the fallen soldiers fought.
