According to MILENIO, for the first time US Diplomats stationed in Northern Mexico are undergoing a "Training for Foreign Threats" course that has been used for diplomats stationed in Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other deemed hot spots. With the exception of Columbia, this apparently is the only other time that diplomats stationed in the Western Hemisphere have undergone such training.
