The most beautiful coin the world?

Apparently, a 2010 Mexican silver coin commemorating the centenary of the Revolution has been declared this year's "World's Most Beautiful Coin". Kudos to its designers!

Wow, that's worth about 300 regular pesos. Anyone have a photo of the front of the coin?

more like $600 MXN at today's prices and exchange rates, if that's what you mean by "regular pesos".

Wow you are right. Actually closer to 750 pesos. The price of silver has shot up an astonishing 200% in 3 years. Today's quote is US $30.97 per ounce.
Apparently the coins are still not in distribution, because none of the mint sellers or ebay show them. I would like to get one to see which US locomotive they portrayed.
If anyone is interested in Mexican historic trains, here is a great site:

The ONLY place I could find that had it for sale was the Mexican Mint, Casa de Monedas de México, STORES in Mexico City and San Luís Potosí. BUT they don't ship at all and the price wasn't quoted in the online website. Click above for their website.

On another forum someone posted that they got a quote of slightly over $700 MXN from Bancomer. I'm going to check this out in the next couple of days to see if Bancomer will actually order and sell the coin. For sure, Banco Santander does not. I checked this out yesterday.

That is a beautiful coin.

One of the new murals in Ajijic that was done to celebrate the Centential/Bicentennial includes the same image. I imagine it's from a famous photo. The artist only chose to include three Revolucionarios on the train, but it's otherwise the same train angle and pose, I think.

The mural is located just off the plaza, by the fountain where Gde. Victoria dead ends.

An engine similar to the coin is also on the 100 peso bill. The coin, although beautiful, may be somewhat of an embarrassment for Mexico, because it is parked in a museum in Colorado.
