The Cartels Reach?

While the arrest happened back in 2008, I hadn't run across any news reports until today:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/...world_news-americas/

While the article states that there hasn't been a defined link directly to the Mexican cartels, I don't think it would be much of a stretch to make that assumption. However, Malaysia was the wrong country to get arrested in while being involved in the drug business since it carries the death penalty there!

Yes it has been in the Mexican Press a lot since the end of March. There have been various interviews with the the family and represenitives of the lawyers for the Mexican defendants all claiming their innocence.

The Mexican Lawyer and defendants family also claim the SRE has not been around to help them out, and that the Mexicans are not getting a fair trail, lack of translators etc. SRE says they have been there to help but the Mexicans wanted their to hire their own lawyer and not work with one that SRE offered to them.

Thank you for pointing out that this has been covered on TV news. According to the MILENIO article which follows, the trial has been put off till June 2nd, while it is determined if there has been judicial errors:
