Suggestions Wanted for local People’s Choice Awards

We are preparing a Best of the Best, People’s Choice Awards survey online. As we compile the survey, we would welcome category suggestions and preliminary nominations (for inclusion in the survey) from webboard members.
This survey will feature dozens of categories relating to Lakeside area businesses and services. Examples include: Best Dentist, Favorite Place to Take Out-of-Town Visitors, Best Auto Mechanic, Best Realtor, Best Restaurant (with subcategories), etc., etc.
Please note that we are NOT seeking to point out unscrupulous or below-standard businesses or services, but rather to RECOGNIZE those that are considered superior and worthy of recommendation by local residents. All will be positive, above-board and legit! No money is involved.

The voting survey will be online at several longstanding sites and automatically tabulated, with total transparency. To avoid voter fraud, an email address will need to be verified, but will be kept completely confidential, with absolutely NO spam. We will also publicize and promote the survey and its results.
We have created an official emblem that can be used by winners in their advertising or website. Additionally a certificate suitable for framing will be presented to all winners. The survey will be posted within 10 days, with results announced in February or March. Watch for announcements as we finalize the details.
Suggestions anyone??

Imagen, Marcos & Adelle, publishers of the Chapala (Lakeside) Directory since 2001, and publishers of the StreetSmart Lake Chapala book with area street maps and information guide for residents & visitors. We've done business here at Lakeside since 1994.

Also, we did the FIRST Best of the Best awards contest back in 1999 via our bilingual shopper The Bargain Hunter. That was in the old days before we had Internet though, and we had ballots and drop boxes all over the Ribera (needed a hard copy back then for verification of contest validity). It will be SOooooo much easier on the web, with a program that automatically logs and tallies votes.

P.S. Watch for our new updated & expanded StreetSmart edition to be distributed around the end of this month. (Interactive digital PDF version also available.)

Thanks bournemouth. After 47 years together, I STILL think he's pretty swell, and that is saying a lot!! I guess it didn't dawn on me that people might not believe this was for real; however, we have been working on it for about a month. Very shortly it will be online and we can simply direct people to one of our web sites to vote. We were just hoping for some input as we compile categories, subcategories, etc. If something is missing, they will be able to write in a business and vote for that one.
