Something in the weather or the water perhaps?

Can't Post |
Just a general observation directed at no one in particular, because we have all been guilty at one time or another (myself especially included):

I just can't help wondering if there is a change in barometric pressure or something malevolent in the water in Mexico at the moment, given the general crankiness of a number of posters on several threads today.

Lighten up! After all, the worst day in Mexico is far better than the best day here in lovely Big D! And a feliz fin de semana a todos!

I agree.
Before posting a response, posters would be well advised to consider whether,
(a) they are adding anything valuable to the thread, and
(b) their response is made in the "most pleasant" (least agressive?) manner/style possible.

Around here, it's hot, dry and dusty. The wind kicks up at night and in the morning dust is everywhere. The heat and dust are probably making people cranky.

What is needed is a keyboard attachment: it has a breathalizer built in which senses the inebriation of the user and deactivates the "send" button. There is another sensor to measure blood pressure which, at a certain level, does the same.

There is an additional nice feature which kicks in as a "delay" for ten minutes between pressing "send" and actual sending.

After that, it's up to the mod.

IMO, crankiness besets humans: acting on it is a matter of individual choice. When it hits 90F and it's humid or too dry and dusty, I feel cranky.
I've found that biting doesn't help: the bitee usually retaliates.

Sometimes a walk around the block helps. Or a romp with your dog.

Until today it's been too hot to take a walk, and unfortunately I don't have a dog to play with. I find playing some of my favorite music helps, and if all else fails, there's I can always take a refreshing siesta.

Ditto. Too hot to walk, and no dog......but a nice tepid bath, some music and maybe a good murder mystery in a comfy chair usually does the job for me. Watching the birds in our fountain "spa" is another sure fire cure for the crankies.

Ah, yes, murder mysteries, my favorite kind of reading these days. I wonder why they're so comforting to read . . .

How about : because you're not the victim and the good detective is responsible for the solution? Works for me.

I agree 100% with Gringal. A comfortable chair, a good fan and a good book. My problem was that there was no good source for English-language books here in Mazatlán 15 years ago, so I had to open my own bookstore to be able to fulfill that last necessity.

And in the end, equilibrium is restored, más o menos.

Like the old Greek concept of "catharsis"? Right now, I've got plumbing problems and could use a little "Deus ex machina" in my world. lol.
