Would like to know the best way to go to Mexico City by bus from San Antonio and back? Do they have any service that run straight to and from both cities without trasnferring? What is the approximate fare ow or rt? Search in google but failed.
Appreciate any assistance out there.

I am not 100% sure, only 99.9% so lets see if I get corrected,In my oppinion you would need to take a U S bus to Loredo,cross the border and then take a Mex bus to Mex City if you are concerned about comfort & time, just take a 1st class, direct bus they are excellant and will provide you with a complementary drink and sandwich to eat along the way,{ no worries }

Obe is right, taking a bus to the border is a good solution, but then you have to get from the border to the Mexican bus station.

You may be able to go well into the interior of Mexico from San Antonio. Stop in at a Mexican market (where the signs are mostly in Spanish) and ask about bus service into Mexico. They will know where the buses leave from, maybe have a phone number. For example, from Denver Colorado, you can get a direct bus to Chihuahua. I suspect that you can get a direct bus from San Antonio to at least Monterrey, which would be simpler than a bus to the US side of the border. Maybe they have buses to the bus station on the Mexican side, or perhaps a direct bus to Mexico City. You don't know unless you ask.

By the way, maybe 5% of the Mexican first class bus lines have schedules on the internet, so you can search for days and learn little. A little personal, face-to-face inquiry would be more productive.

You can take a bus from San Antonio, TX to Nuevo Laredo, MX without transferring. It's very simple. From Nuevo Laredo's bus station you will take another bus, either a first class or an executive class bus, which will take you to Mexico City.

Like the rest of the posters, I am not aware of any buses that go directly from San Antonio to Mexico City. The Mexican bus line that I am aware of in San Antonio is Autobuses Americanos. When I used them about five years ago they were located in the old MCI building, about three blocks from the Greyhound bus station. They do have buses that go from San Antonio to Monterrey and that stop in Nuevo Laredo. (However, sometimes these buses arrive from Dallas pretty full.) From either Nuevo Laredo or Monterrey, you should be able to get a bus that goes directly to Mexico City. For the most comfort, I would recommend Turistar Ejecutivo.

By the way, I have lived in Mexico over eight and a half years now and wherever I travel in Mexico I travel by bus. I also always take a bus to the U.S. border (specifically Reynosa or McAllen), where I leave my car parked (on the U.S. side). I now live in Aguascalientes, but I lived in Monterrey for over eight years before moving here six months ago.
