Harry, I am not positive about this, so forgive if I am wrong, but the pricing you describe sounds like that of an insurance company, or an HMO. If you get your Rx's at a discounted rate because you have an insurance of some sort, then you ought to direct your question to your insurance company. I am almost positive they will tell you they do not have any such arrangement with pharmacies in Mexico. I require only one medication per month. I could not find the brand name nor the generic version of the BP medication I used to use in the USA. I visited a local, Mexican doctor and she gave me an Rx (which is technically not even required but it at least got me started) for a drug that is not available in the USA, apparently, but used extensively elsewhere in the world where pharmaceuticals are not in cahoots with the governemt, insurance companies, doctors, et al) and I buy it at Costco here in Mexico. Because it is convenient for me and they have the lowest price for this particular drug that I have been able to find. I used to pay $10 co-pay under my employer's HMO plan for a generic BP med that never did control my blood pressure very well. The regular price from WalMart, Costco, and host of other places, all NoB, was also $10. Having insurance meant squat when it came to this very common drug...Lisinopril. I can't even get it here... and that may be a blessing. I am using Blopress Plus, and I pay about $40 a month for it. It works infinitely better. Listen, unless you have some really unusual disaeases, you are going to do just fine in Mexico. The cost differences are going to be negligible and offset by significant savings in other areas. IMHO.
