Power of Attorney Form

Can't Post | Private Reply
A friend of mine has property in Mexico City... Her daughter is a co-owner... The daughter wants to give her mother her share of the property... How can she obtain the necessary form(s) to transfer her ownership to her mother? Any idea how to obtain the form(s) on line???? Any other suggestions are welcome....

Your friend should consult with a notario publico, who can draft the necessary instruments to effect her wishes. This isn't a situation where someone can simply download a form, fill in the blanks, and take it the local barber who moonlights as a notary public for verification of a signature.

Thanks Jennifer.... She is here in Northern California and hard headed as are (most) some Latinas here... Thanks to your reply, she will be in Sacramento later this month to do what needs to be done... Thanks again, Nick

Just so you definitely understand, j.r. meant you need to see a MEXICAN notario--not a US notary public. I've heard some Mexican consulates have notarios, but I'm not sure if this is true. If not, a Mexican power of attorney can be handled long distance, but the hassles will be significant. A trip to DF might be easier.

Got it... If Sacramento doesn't work, she will be heading South. Mi Esposa corrected me about my stubborn latina comment. She reminded me she is not stubborn, just right most of the time... Thanks
