So what's the problem? Nothing's keeping you from posting information on Mexconnect, along with the ex-member of the military and the ex-professor.

Really quite simple: if we should happen to have an experience that cannot be confirmed or documented by some sort of published regulation or procedure, then it didn't really happen! Such lobbying for control of the forum thought processes is not only oppressive but also offensive in my book.

YMMV!

Who are you talking about?

Free advise is worth what you pay for it. There are many expert expats that know everything there is to know about Mexico posting on forums. If readers want to believe everything they read on the internet because it is what they want to hear, so be it.

Is this about the release of information regarding Area 51?

That must be it: Area 51.

Observation: There are some people who will go to great lengths to avoid actually paying for sound advice from a notario, a lawyer or a seasoned facilitator. So what do they do? Head for the internet forums, where the advice may or may not hold up under the scrutiny of the authorities they'll have to deal with if they get incorrect advice. This is where the old saw "you get what you pay for" comes in.

The only way you'll know which "advisors" are giving you the correct scoop is to take said advice and test it. This could get expensive.

I've heard some advice re cars and the new regs. that is absolutely amazing. Also, some that turns out to be true. Gambling is a popular pastime, too. Buen Suerte and all that. (grin)

Over the last 9 years I've never used a "facilitator" for any (tramites),I have on the other hand gotten good info on these matters from this forum, you just have to pick and choose the advice you think is correct.

I am quite pleased with your so called "the new resident experts on all things" I while back I needed some very important advice and the Resident Experts came through to help me out in my time of need. I will always be grateful for the information that I received. It only makes sense to me that the people that take the time to research many topics to help others would in time become Resident Experts. I am sure anyone on this forum that wants to do the same would be more than welcome to become an Expert as well.

I like it just the way it is.

I guess your only alternative would be to stop logging into this forum.

Just my opinion,

CozICan:

I congratulate you on everything working out in your favor. However, since there are rarely any absolutes in Mexico, I would recommend double check info received on thsi forum or any other. We blindly followed advice received on this forum from a long time member and it cost us close three hours at a border crossing and what started off to be a $900USD fine.

Do we have a reason to question people claiming to be experts?

Even a blind pig finds a truffle now and then.

Am getting used to the disagreable and negative tone of chinagringo and bennie´s potshots, but Bennie hit a new low when he inserted a line in CoziCan's last posting in this topic. The "blind pig" bit came from him, not CoziCan. And for those who find the MexConnect website insufficiently indicating where quotes begin and end, please recall that there are such symbols as the quote mark, or the old telegraphic style "BEGIN QUOTE" and "END QUOTE."

As for the "blind pig," Mr. Bennie, you do realize that the pig is likely to find the truffles by scent as much as or more than by sight. So the blind pig may do well. Meanwhile, your comment, also hit a new low, even for you, in your apparent indirect reference to other posters.

No one should "blindly" follow anyone's advice. However, my consumer guide to the current "resident experts" is that they make a serious effort to doublecheck info. Of course, even confirmed info can turn out not to be what actually happens here.
