Yes, *grin* - I was busy editing - to include a map of locations, and the specific official addresses - and happened to see the same missing US Embassy item - and added it....

Can the visa application process be started with any of the Consular Agent offices?

A check of SMA, Nice France, Bremen DE, Poznan PO, et al say that they do not handle visa applications,

Mazatlán consular office does not, people must go to the US Consulate in Hermosillo or Guadalajara.

Consulate issue visas, Consulate agencies do no. You have to do the application on line, after you do it make sure you save it . Then you need to pay the fee and then make the appointments in the city of your choice.
The appointements are made over two days, one day for the prints passorts etc and another day for the interview. No one is allowed in the interview except the applicant. In the application you have to give the name of a DHL office in your area and the passport and visa are returned in about 2 weeks, It is pretty easy to get an appointment in Mexico city but it can take 3 months to get an appointment in Guadalajara. I do not know about the other consulates.

The fee for the tourist/business visa is 2080 pesos, you lose it if the visa request is turned down.

Since the answer was directed to me, I guess I should answer it. Also since living in San Juan del Rio, Qro. I doubt I will use any of the offices except México. Only a 2.5 hour bus ride away. Thanks for the responses.
