I would use UPS or FedEx.

Yes, and by ordinary mail. If requested by the post office to fill out the green customs form, enter "No value."

thanks both of you for your quick response. I'm gonna give the cheepest one a try, keeping my negatives in case the pics get lost in transit somewhere.

Another option would be to send the photo via the internet to someone with a color printer, and have them print out the picture(s) for you. Should the recipient not have a computer or a color printer, you could send it to a friend or to an internet cafe with a color printer. I've sent scans of many old photos that way to my relatives.

My alternative doesn't quite meet your requirements because of the cost of developing the photos. But it is an option that will work in some situations

Along that line, when I want to send photos out of Mexico quickly I use Shutterfly with my digital camera and computer. There are many programs available to print and send digital photos. They usually arrive in 3 days and photos can be sent to several recipients.

I always mail my pictures using regular US mail. It usually takes between two or three weeks for them to arrive in Central Mexico (Aguascalientes). Never had any of them get lost. I also write on the outside in English and in Spanish, "Photos Inside" and "Fotos Incluidos". Just to answer the curiosity question for the would be postal theif. I figure they won't waste their time to look at some smiling gringos. Hope this helps.

IF the reciepients have a computer, it's very easy to send CD's to Mexico. I've received several over the past few years one with over 500 photos.

Very good idea, as most photo developers, ie Wal Mart, Walgreen's, etc. usually offer the CD option for a nominal fee.
