Rolly: I have seen forums or listservers or other public spaces where one person is disproportionally active. I have even seen listservers where more than half of the posts come from one person! As you might imagine, this is not a healthy situation. Usually, that one person, even if in small doses they are OK, becomes a bore, a problem, and a liability rather than an asset. That same person, in my experience, is also apt to get in fights with people, especially if someone suggests that they cut back a little. That person probably also needs a life. I would note that in some of the Mexconnect forums, the moderator does make a high percentage of the posts. Generally these are the more inactive forums, that need more posts. Note that in the Mexconnect forums, the moderator is not a self-appointed job, but is appointed by someone else, presumably because they are knowledgeable and responsible. This a little different from the person who decides he or she needs to answer every post, or start several new topics every week. Anyway Rolly, the first paragraph does not apply to you or to anyone else I know on Mexconnect. It relates to my experiences on other public forums, including some that predate the internet. You are a long way from dominating the forums, but don't go up to ten posts per day! ;-) Obviously many people enjoy your posts, so don't worry. Have a nice day. http://www.fergusonsculpture.com
