Green pottery from Michoacan - anyone have info on this?

Hola,

While browsing through one of our local stores in SMA yesterday I came upon a fantastic collection of this green pottery from Michoacan. Does anyone have information on this pottery? I have seen pieces before but not this many at one time! It is quite beautiful with a wonderful glaze.

Thanks for the info!

It would be helpful if you described this work other than simply by color. In Tzintzuntzan, green glaze is used. And it's also a trademark of Patamban. But then were you were talking about the green pineaples of San Jose de Gracia?

For more about Michoacan artesania, see http://www.mexconnect.com/...n/secturartesan.html.

Thanks Jennifer - I was sure you would know. The store had hundreds of pieces and it is hard to describe them. They were high gloss with green. There were pineapples, but many many other figures and sizes. I didn't know if it was a specific technique from your area. Is there anything special to look for? The colors were a deep green, very beautiful.

Thanks
