Goodbye, Shep Lenchek

Can't Post |
Shep Lenchek, one of MexicoConnect's most valued contributers, died with his wife Ruth last Monday in a car accident in Arkansas. The Lencheks made their home in Ajijic for the past decade.

This month's issue of MexicoConnect's magazine features an article by Shep, and more of his in-depth pieces can be found at http://www.mexconnected.com/...thorsindex.html#shep. An indefatigable and tenancious researcher, Shep explored and wrote about Mexican issues often untreated elsewhere. One of my favorite of Shep's pieces was a three-part piece about the Jews of Mexico.

Shep's contributions will be sincerely missed.

His obituary can be found at http://www.guadalajarareporter.com/obits.cfm.

Oh! How sad. They were a great couple who worked endlessly helping others. They will be greatly missed by all of us who knew them.

They will indeed be greatly missed. Shep's great articles will remain a lasting testimony to his love of, and deep interest in, all things Mexican. Que descansen en paz. Gwen & Tony.

Not having made the move SoB yet, I didn't know these people who appear to have been the kind of citizens every community needs. After reading JR's post, I visited his articles and hope everybody has read this one.
