My take on the original story was that the local citizenry were convinced that these two out-of-town individuals were guilty of trying to kidnap local young girls for bad things and as long as the individuals were held in the jail to face justice, the citizenry were satisfied, but when a judge ordered the individuals released on bail, the citizenry were convinced that the individuals would flee, never face justice, and probably repeat their crimes . Rightly or wrongly, they elected to take matters into their own hands and see that justice was served. My point was that the Mexican people are capable of organizing, taking matters into their own hands, and correcting injustices, maybe the basis for some optimism that Mexico will work through the current crisis it is facing. This may not have been a good example for some.
