Translated from El Siglo de Torreón:

The Mexican Association of Business Petrol (Amega) reported that Magna gasoline will increase by $0.08 per liter, which closed 2010 with a price of $8.76 per liter. The premium rose by $0,04 per liter to reach a sale price to the general public of $10.10 per liter, while diesel rose $0.08, with the new price of $9.12 per liter.

This is the twelfth increase reporting of fuels in the year and is expected, according to the Amega, the monthly price increases to continue next year.

With the policy of monthly increases enacted by the federal government, Magna gasoline recorded an annual increase of 12.3 percent, well above the rise in the inflation rate expected for 2010 of 4.32 percent,

That's interesting. Another interesting piece of information is that when people work out payback time by purchasing photo voltaic solar panels, they often throw in the fact that historically CFE (electric) rates increase at about 12 to 12.5% per year.

Where does most of the energy come from that generates that power? Fossil fuels of course :)

Rolly, I believe everyone knows the price of gas goes up a few centavos around the first of each month, but thanks for reminding us of the fact...
$0.08 centavos would be less than 1 cent per liter,correct...

At $2.67 a gallon it is still a lot cheaper than in the US

I paid $2.89 gal for regular yesterday here in northeast Ohio. Some stations have it listed at $2.93 and the price has been rising.

Man, I'd not mind paying those prices. Here NZ$1.93/litre - a little over 18 pesos/litre, or about US$5.55/gallon.

Oh well, another year until I can get to the other side of the Pacific...
Así pues...aquí estamos...
