It took 5 weeks, 4 visits to the local INM office (just 2 blocks away, fortunately) and MN$2000 but I now have 1 year FM3 for 'activas lucrativas' via my in-laws' business.
The Mexican Consul in London (from whence we came) doesn't issue any kind of visa (despite what their website says), hence the application from within the country. The fact that my wife is a Mexican national and that we have MN$1m + to invest in business and property here cuts us absolutely no slack whatsoever.
Now, I understand that there are various conditions attached to having and keeping an FM3 but the only help is a pointer towards the relevant sections of the Ley Federal. Is there an english version on line anywhere or can anyone give me a summary of what is and isn't permissable (restrictions on 'political comment' for example).
