Feria de Colima

I would suggest that anyone living or visiting within a 2-3 hr drive, attend the Feria in Colima, Colima. It is well worth a one day or an overnight trip. It started last Sunday and I believe it runs through November 9. We went there today and it is held at their huge fairgrounds. They have very nice exhibits from some of the towns in the state of Colima telling their history, folk lore and showing the wares from their towns. The exhibit halls are big and well ventilated. They have exhibits of too many things to list all here, including animals, plants, furniture, etc. They have sort of a tianguis section where you can buy many different items. They have many restaurants, provided by local merchant restaurants, that seat 100+ persons with strolling mariachis and even small cart vendors. They have a large area set aside for an amusement park to entertain the youth, with many rides which includes a ferris wheel and a smaller scale roller coaster. I recommend this as a chance to visit a very nice town and see the history and culture of this area, shown at this fair.
