Today is Nov 20 no one is talking about the new Immigration laws. My FM33 expires on 2/25/12. What do I do?

Wow, you must be special to rate an FM33! Mine has only one 3.

To answer your question, I suggest you go to INM a month before your visa expires and ask them what to do. I believe that as of today, the anniversary of the Mexican Revolution, no definitive regulations have been issued to implement the new laws. Of course, Rolly has the final word on this all important topic!

Are we forgetting where we are? This is MX, nothing happens now, or even "in a while" - it will happen when it happens and we'll just wait until then.

Example: they're rebuilding the old La Casa Nostra next to me, they said it would be 3-4 months of construction, noise, dust, power disruptions etc, t's now NINE and counting, literally 7 days a week, sucking so much electricity for power tools the TV in the casita shuts off? - and you're worried about next year? I'm just hoping for a peaceful Tgiving dinner in the drive next week whenever.

Who knows whether anything will be different by your renewal date. It looks like it will still be awhile, so any changes may not even affect you yet.

Renew your FM3 just as you have on he past. The new laws have yet to be posted, and it kind of looks like they will now come into effect in the new year.

In the process of renewing my FM3 right now, and it's been a pita. Stupid stuff that has had us going there Monday, returning today and having to return again tomorrow. Hopefully, that will be it and won't hear anything until after January since the immigration offices close this Friday for the holidays.
