Dare I mention Cinco de Mayo?

All the hub-bub about the new forum look (I have concerns as well, but I'll wait a while to see how it shakes out), no one has said Feliz Cinco de Mayo. I know it's a bigger holiday here in Estados Unidos than in its home, but any excuse to celebrate. Just finished my Pollo Asado tacos and am still sipping on my Tecate, all the while listening to songs about Mexico - wishing I was there rather than here. My next trip south is next month - most likely my last as a working man. Retirement in December will allow me to pursue my passion for Mexico more fully. Anyway, feliz, feliz to all MexConnecters!

I was turning the corner onto Hernandez Macias around 10:30 this morning and almost got my eardrums blasted out by a navy-uniformed drum and bugle corps that suddenly hit it hard. I never did see the rest of the parade, or whatever was supposed to go with the band. A few stores closed early, but other than that, I didn't see any signs of Cinco de Mayo in San Miguel. Now back in Phoenix and in LA, those were celebrations...
