For some reason I can't get this article to attach. You can read it at DallasMorningNews.com on the Front Page section.

All this forwarding and attachments thing gets me very confused at times. My question is how does your post improve on my e-mail address given re: the dallasmorningnews.com. ? Mine goes straight to the home page and a look-up of the article in the front page section. Yours involves a sign in, etc., which someone may not want to mess with.

Please don't misunderstand me. I'm not being critical. Probably just dumb. You are by far the guru of computers and many other things as far as I'm concerned.

The DMN, like many other newspapers, requires a registration. Once you are a registered user, a cookie on your computer will ID you when you access the site. I do not know why you were allowed to access the main page and not the story page without a registration.

That's an intriguing come-on. "Mexican Torture" But, is the article noteworthy enough to register with a newspaper published in, of all places, Dallas? Surely the article is not centered on the notion that authorities in Mexico employ "torture". If so, let Rumsfeld know right away so he can add Mexico to the "rendering" list.

In order to register with the Dallas newspaper, I am required to state my age. Well, old enough not to start seeking news sources in Texas, by God! Reverend Billy Bob can go preach to the choir.

I don't think I registered. Belo is so big on promoting their web sites, maybe they don't require registration, or at least some access without registering. I think the DMN is reporting more Mexican news due to NAFTA, a Texas president who seems dedicated to improving relationships with Mexico and the exploding Mexican population in Texas.

Tom, you prolly registered at some point in time and never signed out.

And, Dallas Morning News now has a spanish-language (very thin) daily newspaper. It seems they finally determined that there is a Mexican/latino target mrket out there.

Ergo, the appearance of the article about abuses.

MY gripe is, for us bilinguals who are able to enjoy both newspapers, the subject matter is duplicsated in both languages, both papers, so, if you have read the English language DMN, dont think yuu will find new content in AL DIA. www.aldiatx.com (which I have seen for sale in the machines at Marquez panaderia on Division in Arl.

Lavanda currently for the moment in Red Oak, TX

!! Viva Mexico, warts and all !!!
