Calling Chihuahua

Help. I just got Verizon's new $3 a month plan to make calls to Mexico for 10 cents a minute and cannot get it to work. I've got a verified number to Chihuahua city that won't go through on my cell phone. It is 011 52 614 and the 7 digit home number of my friend. What am I doing wrong?

My cell phone and some of my friend's cell phones will not allow calls to MX. Period!

Have you tried from your land line?

FYI- I call San Miguel de Allende and I use 10-10-987 , it costs .09/minute with a .99 connect fee.

We just recently got a fancy new phone from Telmex with a Caller ID display. Hey, it just came with the service. Does your friend perhaps have such a phone? If so, you might need to ask him or her to program your new cell phone number in. Or have you talked to your Verizon service rep? Buena suerte!
