Auto registration question, please.

I'll be packing my truck in San Antonio and crossing at Pharr/Reynosa. Can I register my truck in Nuevo Laredo (much closer than Pharr) some time before I make the final crossing with household goods. That means I'd register, come back to the U.S. for some period, return to Mexico with effects. Gracias, Miguel

I can only tell you that I did that with my car. I went over to Laredo, got my permit, then back to the US for the night and over the next day. Just remember that your permit for your car, to start with, will be a max of 180 days so you will be using them up from that date.

One question, I probably missed some of your postings, but why the crossing at Reynosa instead of Laredo/Columbia?

Cuidate,

If I recall correctly, the original poster is coming across with an FM3 and a menaje de casa. His vehicle permit will be valid as long as his FM3 is valid.
