Archaeology Interest

Can't Post | Private Reply
Any expat there living SOB with an interest in archaeology? I would like to hear from anyone now living in Mexico who is also involved with any archaeology group, a actual "dig" that takes volunteers (that are mostly English speaking for now at least), a club that is involved with an archaelogical department from a local university etc. I am familiar with the many "study tours" that go to Mexico, but not looking for that. Just interested in how that experience is working for you. I am involved with an volunteer archaeological association that works with the US Forest Service here in the states. Thanks! Jim

There won't be a lot of options in Mexico unless you're a student at a University. I'm not aware of any actual digs in Mexico accepting non-students/non-degreed folks.

I do know of one in Belize that I haven't participated in... but have heard good things.

With your experience from Passport in Time(?) I think they'd gladly take you on.
