Anyone been to New Laredo lately?

Good morning all!!

I'm going to visit family in the States during the holy weekin Mexico and was wondering if anyone here has driven through New Laredo lately? I'm not a big fan of flying so I thought I may take a bus from DF and get off in New Laredo and take a taxi into Texas. I know some border towns are bad but I've never had any problems going through NL before.
Any thoughts?

I do not live in Nuevo Laredo but am on the northern frontera just a couple of hours away. I don't think you will have any trouble with your plan. You might also check at the Nuevo Laredo bus station for a US bus (Greyhound) that will take you north across the border instead of using a taxi. There is a small Greyhound station in the main bus central where you can get info and tickets for the forward portion of your trip. You can go all the way to Dallas, Chicago or Detroit, and many destinations in between. !Feliz Viaje!

Or better yet, catch the Turismo bus in Mexico and go all the way through without any hassle in N. Laredo. http://portal.gruposenda.com/Senda/jsp/

I have ridden the Turismo bus to and from Dallas, TX many times and would not ride Greyhound if anything else were available. It also goes to many other USA destinations. They

Thanks for all of the information everyone!!

I used to use Autobusesamericanos, but the seats aren't all that great. I may still use them though but first I'll check into the other one mentioned.

I took the bus from Mazatlan to San Antonio last July, only problem was the wait for immiragation check in Laredo, Tx. Came back by bus from San Antonio, Texas in Jan of this year no problem, no long wait coming into Mexico. Their are several buses that go into the states, in Texas I think they go all the way to Houston.
