Ana Guevara at the Olympics

Can't Post | Private Reply
This is probably too late to get a timely reply, but does anyone know when Mexico TV will be broadcasting the final 500m women's race today featuring Ana Guevara?

I was lucky enough to see her last qualifying round while in a department store here in Mazatlan... quite an experience... I don't know if I've ever seen such genuine enthusiasm for a sporting event before (and this comes from somebody whose attended his fair share of New York Mets games.)

I'd like to be in a department store when she wins the gold. :)

(hmmm... I'm thinking there'll be a minor celebration or two in the streets tonight. :))

Hi there,
I understand it is around the lunch time which will make it even busier in those department stores with a/c and big tv screens. I am told 1:50 pm as of a few minutes ago, but I will repost after double checking if that is incorrect. How exciting for everyone. Mexico will indeed be glued to TV's today in support.

The official time for the Women's 400m Final, which most of Mexico will be
watching, as well as thousands of Mexicans in the U.S., Canada and elsewhere,
is apparently 3:35 p.m. - 3:40 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Go, Ana, Go!

Today, 2:50 PM, CST (Guadalajara; Mexico City; Chicago time). And it's the 400 m race.

Right. If you tune in by about 1:30 Mazatlan time (MST) you will sure to see it.

She was great, wasn't she? She snagged the silver, but she sure wasn't far from the gold! What a classy lady she is. No wonder the Mexicans are so proud of their Ana!

And she dazzled the predominately Greek crowd in a show of sportsmanship/respect by carrying the Mexican flag AND the Greek flag!

Yes, very classy, and it was a very strong second place. She appears quite young, and there's always 2008.
