Agua

Hi All Again, Maybe today is my lucky for some good answers! (smiling) I currectly have a rented home in CD Madero. I am loking for someplace a lot less humid. Cold in the winter is nt a bother. I have been looking at the folowing four cities. Aguascalientes, Queretaro, San Luis del Rio and Morelia. Have any of you all been in these places long enough to make some judgement calls (pro or con accepted)? I figured on taking a trip to all four of these cities in a couple of weeks to more or less make some evaluations and relocate quickly in one of them for the winter. Maybe not correct, but I have been told that in the mountains it is less humid than on the Gulf. I spent a week before in Morelia and a couple of weeks in Querertaro, but never been to San Juan or Aguascalientes. I really liked the time I was in Morelia and Queretaro, really a european (old world) flair to both these cities. Thanks for any and all input in advance. Robert

I lived in Puebla (city) for many years. Absolutely stunning place. The center is a UNESCO world heritage site. There is no city in all of Mexico with more colonial architecture than Puebla. View of Mt. Popo, safe, good services, only 2.5 hours from D.F., 3 hours from Oaxaca, 3 hours from Veracruz, 6 hours from Acapulco. The weather is very good there.

I have spent time in (but never lived in) all but San Luis del Rio. I have never heard of San Luis del Rio and a search came up with San Luis Rio in the state of Sonora--but I am not sure that is where you meant. If you meant San Juan del Rio in the state of Queretaro or San Luis Potosi in the state of SLP--that is a different matter. Anyway, all the other 3 have thier advantages. Aguas is defintiely more modern and colder than Morelia or Queretaro, but it is a very nice. Queretaro and Morelia are both colonial and beautiful. All are dry in the winter so humidity would not be a problem. I like DF and Queretaro is close to DF. Morelia is close to Lake Patzcuaro and the surrounding areas. Puebla--mentioned by another poster--is wonderful, but I spent a week there in December a few years back and it took me 2 months to recover from the air pollution.
