Greetings. This is the whole story of the project. Salvador, ( Argentinian), was a teenage when, 'Santana,' did a tour in his country and it blow him out. He came to the U. S. A., many years later and wanted to do this project. He was looking for people here in Houston to set the project and some people told him that I was the person he need to see. I was working in a Show/Band, and he came to the place and in the break, told me about this project. We agree that when he would be ready he would call me. A few years after, he contact me again, ( I already forgot about), and told me that he was ready and that he got some people, ( Marcos/ guitar), the bass player, and that the percussion was going to be my whole responsibility. I did the audition for the drummers and percussionists. We lost the first drummer, ( because family problems), and I did another audition for a new one. I have to be in charge also of teaching the bass player the swing/feeling of the music, ( because he never play Latin Music. Marcos, ( lead Guitar), has a gifted memory, ( he memorized all the songs, including the, Studio and live/version of the guitar/solos). I brought in my best conga student at that time, ( Steve), and we blowed everyplace in which we performed, ( including, Fitzgerald's), at Houston. We were playing around the schedule of my other band, so at one point I have to find my replecement and I was sending my other students, ( as needed), to support the project. Salvador, ( keyboarts player), could no play anymore and was replaced and after that I lost contact with the band, ( my main contact which the band was Salvador and Marcos. Salvador was no longer in the U.S.A., ( some Visas problems), and Marcos, for some reasons had to change his phone number, so I lost contact with the band. I did my share of playing with Mexican Bands, ( from 1981 to around 1985,), there are a lot of good bands in Mexico, ( including Costa Chica). Gerry Zaragemca International Club of Percussionists
