(take 2) PhD Student seeks help of people living/visiting Mexico

Ok, somehow i managed to put up an empty post before (i blame the fact that it was my first), so here i go again:

Hi!!!

I'm a half Mexican PhD student at the Uni of Southampton (in England). My PhD is on tourism to Mexico and on ideas of Mexican culture in American tourist discourses, etc. I was wondering if anyone out there, either tourists visiting Mexico or people who have moved to Mexico, could help me out?

I'm going to be in San Miguel de Allende for the most part of February (still trying to find a room to stay at whilst there, any recommendations?!?!), in Guanajuato for March and in Cancun/Mayan Riviera for April...and I was wondering if anyone can help me out while im there, either by allowin me to interview you or by just meeting up with me and chatting (because i dont know anyone in these places yet!). I would be so so very grateful! It's bound to be pretty interesting, plus, im going to come loaded with guidebooks and fluent spanish so i possibly could also be of assistance if any is needed :)

Anyways, just that. I'm very excited. Please do get in touch, i'd love to hear your experiences and ideas :-)
my email's aep106@soton.ac.uk

Best wishes,
Anna

Good luck on your trip.

A new (new to me) place to stay in SMA that is very reasonable is "El Jardin de Don Quijote"
As a student I imagine budget is important, I believe they are $250 peso a night , per person.

All the best,

Todd

I quickly googled craigslist mexico...and came up with mexico city and mazatlan...didn't look any further. if you find the right locations, you could put an ad in housing wanted...also, check out the shared accommodations...you might be able to rent a room in someone's house.
