From this thread:

http://www.chapala.com/webboard/index.php?showtopic=45292

"Note: as of July 10 a court order stopped most virtual processes. If you have started nationalizing with S&S Auto or about to do so, check and see if this court ruling has affected them. Fortunately, through UCD, the process continues."

Maybe someone on this board can verify?

I wonder who initiated the court proceedings? What was this case about? Where can I read about it?

John two of the pedimentos, receipts and titles are now being couriered back to the head of UCD. They were promised within a month or less and that is what is happening. The intent was to go slow and prove the system worked as total refunds are being offered if any problems.

And yes a court ruling July 10, 2013 stopped most "virtual" nationalizing. UCD has manitained their process in the states of Guanajuato and a very few other states where they had approval. We are also told that the UCD program of nationalizing is a "window" of time and not forever. We hope it continues until November so we can include our 2008 vehicle.

LovingMexico,

Please keep the board posted here, as to the results of these two nationalizations, or any others you process.

Also have your customers post here as to their complete success in nationalizing AND obtaining license plates.

One more thing is that I do not understand who is offering these "total refunds" if "something goes wrong".

Are you and your wife offering the refunds, or is Aduana, or is UCD, or is the Import Broker (at the border), or is it the former Aduana employee ? (or all of the above?)

And is this "refund policy" printed in writing anywhere?

John the refund is total of all monies paid and is written on the receipt which my wife issues for the full amount.

The forum Policy and Use rules link is not working.
Are there any restrictions on using the General Forum and the Living and Working in Mexico Forum for advertising and personal services and private individuals or corporations selling things? I would like to advertise plumbing and electrical installation and repair services. Unlike the proposed paper only auto import systems, my services are without a doubt completely legal.

Thanks!
I am trying to find out what Mexconnect's policies are on advertising and describing and answering lots of questions about personal services. I read through the Forums Terms of Services, and I could not see anything that deals with advertising personal services for ourselves or our family members.

I have a sister who is a great architect.

My niece is a fine dentist.

Another niece is a fine day-care person and teacher.

My cousins are really good lawyers.

My sister-in-law is a terrific accountant.

My brother-in-law runs a good small resort and restaurant.

The other brother-in-law runs a good paving business that does really good paving for private individuals.

Should I now start to post all the details of their fine services and their professional attributes and their price schedules, on the Living in Mexico Forum , or on the General Forum?

Are the Mexconnect general forums the place to flog personal services and sales opportunities?

Nothing has changed. As previously, even if we are sometimes slow to react and move them, commercial posts generally belong on Mexico Only Business/Trade (and not on the LWR or General forums).

Where have we seen this before, an answer from TIO Corp Insurance:

You are more wise than I.
If you do manage to find anything, by all means let us know. We trust our broker and have seen a "J" pediment processed by him under the Amparo which we were told is fairly recent, if that helps.

The information was provided by the import agent who filed suit for the amparo and we do not have access to the court transcripts or other documents. He considers this to be privileged information which provides him with competitive advantage. Amparos are quite complex in Mexico and we have attached a link for your interest....

In response to email to TIO Corp Insurance 17 February 2013:

I am curious about the information you posted on:
http://www.tiocorpinsurance.com/...-can-import-in-2013/. In particular, where may I find an official posting?
An Amparo has recently been issued by Mexican federal courts and that has created a window of opportunity to import a number of cars, vans and trucks that would not normally be permitted. The Amparo window is open at only two border crossings, most notably at Tijuana.
Or at the very least, can you provide the actual title, date published and location?

John the first pedimento and factura arrived electronically and will arrive via courier soon. Herb applied June 20th. I went on line and confirmed it is all correct. Normally we will not get an electronic version just a hard copy but we are all anxious so this is great. Several more will arrive via courier in next few days. We will be at UCD in SMA at 3 pm tomorrow if you want to meet.

This is one of the very few services of this type in Mexico and currently processing both local and out of state nationalizing. One does not have to leave the town / city where they live no matter where you are in Mexico and documents will be returned about a month later.

No trips to the border to nationalize; no tolls and gas; no accommodations; no stress.

If interested, please email me a scanned copy of title. I will get a fee for you usually within 24 hours. This program we hope lasts at least until November so we can nationalize our 2008 vehicle. I have been told this is NOT a long term program according to UCD. Note: UCD has a similar program in one or two other states.

TIO Corp also "went online and confirmed" the pedimento. What is Herb's vehicle VIN, location and date processed? How about Herb's email or user ID so we may contact him personally.

Does anyone have information on TIO Corp and how much monies it has recovered? I keep seeing the TIO Corp swindle happening again. TIO Corp refused to publish the name of the "broker". I'd love to get a copy of this "agreement or letter" which John Garvin aludes to either have or seen, but as my post points out, federal law is not delegated to state officials to administer or enforcement.

OK, when you get the hard copy of the pedimento, keep us posted here.

When Herb successfully obtains his plates with that pedimento, or his permit from "Renta" to drive while waiting for the plates, have him post here.

I have a couple of questions:

1. Is this "UCD Nationalization Program" that we are discussing here, available at all UCD offices in all cities of the state of Guanajuato, where such offices exist?

2. Is UCD a state or federal program?

Remember,"nationalization" and UCD are two different things:

http://www.chapala.com/...pic=44735&page=2

One gets you valid papers and plates showing legal registration and ownership in the state where you live, the other doesn't.

Alright, how about "nationalization through UCD". That is what Lovingmexico has been talking about for the last, what ever, 2 months, isn't it.

OK, but the way I understand it, UCD isn't much different from your old TIP that isn't good anymore if you have gone Permanente. UCD was not designed for gringos to keep their cars here forever and could easily become just as invalid as your TIP. But whatever. I was just trying to point out that it's not an end-around to avoid getting real papers and plates.

Edit:

This is from a post just made by Sonia Diaz on the Retiring, etc. board:

"UCD is an association of campesinos who combine efforts to improve conditions and advocating for farmers etc, buy seeds, farming, irrigation, home improvements, making less expensive foreign vehicles legal, government liaison / support for their causes, etc. UCD or similar organizations can be found in most states in Mexico. They also have approval to nationalize cars just as they do in several states including Chihuahua and Oaxaca, etc. and now in Guanajuato. UCD is similar to the farmers' cooperatives in Canada. "

The words, "help for Gringos looking for a cheaper, easier way" is not there. The red color was added by me.

Beware.
