Importing Mexican furniture to Southern California

Can't Post | Private Reply
My husband and I are thinking of starting a business selling Mexican handcrafted furniture (mesquite and alder) and home accessories. I wonder if we could please get some advice as to the customs process - taxes, do I need a broker or can I do the paperwork myself, what papers are required of me, and whatever else I don't know about yet.

We're in Southern California, so we would mostly be dealing the Rosarito Beach area and driving a truck/trailer back across the border. Would like to do a large inventory trip to Guadalajara to get started. What would be the best way to ship the cargo back from either area - who is the most dependable company with the best prices?

Thanks for your time,
R.Allegro
