Assuming you have a registered, tax-paying business in México, not just asking about employees who work in your home, here is a rough answer: 1. The general rule-of-thumb is that if your employees are not immediate family, they have to be enrolled with IMSS, unless the employees are strictly domestic workers in your home, then you only have to enroll them if they ask you to (normally at a lower take-home salary). BUT this can get complicated, so ASK YOUR MEXICAN ACCOUNTANT (L.C.P.), he's the go-to guy for answers to all tax and employee questions in México. 2. No rule-of-thumb here. Since every situation is different, you must go to your accountant to find out what applies in your specific instance.
