near playa del carmen ?

Hi...

We're thinking about a spur-of-the-moment trip to the playa del carmen area. We're hoping to be near the town but not in the noisey area - not in town at all. BUT we don't want to get too far away so that it's a chore to get into town.

Something to the South of Playa? Not so far as Tulum.

We're a couple about 60. Not looking for fancy, just clean, reasonably quiet, friendly, near the water.

Thanks in advance for any time you might have for a reply...

Well, they may be further than what you want as they are probably half an hour south of Playa but you might check out options in Puerto Aventuras and Akumal.

Hey Tom, another thought would be just 20 miles north of Playa, Puerto Morelos. To me it fits more with your description of 'not to fancy, quiet (Mexico???) and on the water. It is about halfway between the Cancun airport and Playa. Unless something has changed drastically it used to me more laid back than the others.

Hi Rick...

:-)

Will look into the Puerto Morelos possibility. Thanks for pointing it out.
