Whats the difference - Caribbean/Pacific

I have never been to the caribbean.

If you drew the same latitude across Mexico, say equivalent or close to yucatan, same sandy/tropical beach, would you be able tell where you are? I guess the sunrise and sunset would be different?

The colour of the sea is more turqoise (especially in the Cancun area) , there are less waves ,the sand is whiter, the trees donīt turn brown in the dry season ( feb-june) ,there are no hills by the sea, no mangoe trees ,not so many pigs and it is more expensive on the carribean side
