I just read and printed the What Stuff article that you recommended to carib. Al and I will be driving to Cozumel (via Tampa/Progreso ferry and Puerto Morelos/Cozumel ferry) this winter. We will be traveling on an FMT. Since there are two of us, does the list double? Or is it just for the vehicle? The problem is that Al plays bass and lead guitar. He wanted to bring both with amps. Is that gonna work? Also, he is an amateur astronomer. I didn't see any form of telescope (binoculars are not the same :o). Does that mean he can't bring any telescope at all? Man, he will go crazy with no telescope. I'm a newly retired teacher and I wanted to bring books to share with my English speaking neighbors since there is no bookstore on the island with English books. Does this mean I can bring 20 or 40? It's that per capita question again. Will there be a problem with used crayons, markers, colored pencils, and crayons? I was hoping to make them available to the neighborhood children. I thought I might be able to set up a couple of tables in the yard or go to the plaza and just let kids create with my stuff. I have lots, but didn't plan to sell or give away anything. I thought we could get more mileage out of them if I share. It would also give me an opportunity to practice my Spanish. Maybe that idea won't fly, but I'm curious if bringing the stuff in will cause a problem for me. What do you guys think?
