By popular demand, this Forum is for posts about southern Mexico (excluding the Yucatan peninsula).
In other words, anything about the amazing states of Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas is welcome! The variety of landscapes and cultures in the region should be more than sufficient to justify some fantastic exchanges... so let's go!

Tony Burton, our hero!

This is most certainly a forum that I look forward to checking in on.

Something I'm really interested in is the African/Black history in Mexico. I recently visited with a doctor in Morelia who told me of the integration of Africans in Michoacán. But from what I've read, there are are much more African bloodlines in Guerrero and Oaxaca.

Egads, and Chiapas in adventure all its own.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Heavens to Mergatroid. My subscription just paid for itself AGAIN.

Just checked out the link. A Chinese history, too? The other day my dad was just telling me about how he and my dearly departed mother drove to Mexico City in the early 60s from Northern California. He was so surprised to meet someone who spoke his Cantonese dialect at one of their many stops between Nogales and D.F.

Love it. Love it. Love it.

Hola!
This is my first day in this forum. My purpose here is to get travel information on Oaxaca since my wife to be and I are planning our honey moon for this coming March 2006. I don't really know where to start. I've checked some airline fares - they're outragous. If you guys can help me out, I would appreciate.
We would like to travel from New York City, NY. Any airlines, travel agents....you recommend?
