Weeks trip, Guerrero and Oaxaca coastal areas....suggestions?

Can't Post | Private Reply
Good day, all.

I'm planning to spend a little time in Mexico this coming March...my first toe in Mexican water, aside from day visits to the border towns.

I'm considering flying into Acapulco, renting a car, and driving the coast down to Huatulco, different town each night, exploring.

My family and I are looking for semi-rusticity, off the beaten tourist path; we're not luxury-obsessed, either. Any suggestions about things to see and places to go in this corner of the world, from the seasoned Mexico travellers on this board?

Cordially

J.

That seems a bit ambitious to me, but maybe I'm a slow learner. I've lived in Mexico for more than 8 years and still learn "new" things every day. Customs, laws (or lack of), safety, food, etc. are VERY different. I am NOT being negative. I love Mexico (or why else would I live here?) but more and more I am learning that people NOB have a tendency to visit Mexico without researching the facts, customs, laws, etc. For a first trip, why not fly into a destination that interests you, while you dip your toes in the water? Keep your eyes and ears open. You'll love Mexico, if you take time to learn the ways and ideas of the people.
