Travel to Cuba

Can't Post | Private Reply
I will be visiting Cancun at the end of September. My brother seems to think that we can take a day-trip or overnight trip to Cuba but I'm not so clear on what that would entail.

Not sure how much of Cuba you would get to see on such an abbreviated trip. Not to mention cost.

Are there any restrictions on travel from Mexico to Cuba?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what your question is. There are flights from Cancun to Havana. You will need a visa, but I think you simply buy that at the airport. I'm guessing you're a US citizen since your asking about restrictions? They don't stamp your passport when you arrive in Cuba.

I wouldn't go for a day or just an overnight. Three days minimum, depending on price of airfare.

If you go to the US Dept. of State website you will find what restrictions the US has on travel to Cuba.

To avoid being caught breaking US law, US citizens travelers to Cuba should also remove the batteries from their cell phones and Iphones, and anything with GPS capabilities. Also, make no phone calls and do not use the internet to contact friends or family. Our last friend who went to Cuba with his cell phone found that the government played games with the time and date on his phone and screwed with his alarm system, because they clearly can tell when you phones GPS is automatically hitting the US Govt. owned and operated GPS satellites. Big Brother really is watching, hacking into credit card records, phone records, and airline records, so know that unless you pay only in cash, use no credit cards, make no phone calls, make no internet contacts, take the batteries out of all your electronics before you leave Mexico or Canada, then the US government can and does know that you broke the law. The remaining question is just when they will choose to use it against that American Citizen.
