Stuff re Oaxaca

I want to pass along a few items that may be of interest to anyone visiting Oaxaca.

A B&B in the weaving village of Teotitlan, about 30 minutes from Oaxaca, go to http://www.lasgranadasoaxaca.com is inexpensive, clean, bright. Promises a truly unique experience.

Another "alternative" lodging option for the socially conscious can be found at http://www.tolc.org.mx

For a calendar of city-wide cultural events: http://www.oaxacacalendar.com

Monthly newsletter of expat/extranjero/gringo events: http://www.oaxlibrary.com

Thanks Geri!

We keep meaning to head out in your direction and I like the look (and the price) of that B&B.

All the best,

Todd

Hi Geri;
Great meeting you! And thanks for the new info. Probably be flyers for our next trip to Oaxaca (our favorate big city) so lodging info is particularly welcome. Had an interesting drive home; traffic police in Toluca, bandits near Talpa (saved by a local who drove up from the town below to alert us) spectator to a car hijack in Via Alhumada just south of the border. And lots and lots of wonderful people and places on the way. Can't wait to get back!
Best wishes

My husband and I just returned from a week in Teotitlan del Valle. We stayed at Las Granadas and highly recommend it. It's very clean and nice. Josephina serves an excellent breakfast. Bring earplugs if you can't sleep through noise as the roosters start crowing very early as well as the burros braying, turkeys gobbling, dogs barking and church bells ringing! It was great! No TV, newspaper, radio, computers. An easy bus ride into Oaxaca City. Also, don't miss the Sunday market at Tlacolula.
