Oaxaca rental

My husband and I are currently in Puerto Vallarta, anticipating a move to Oaxaca this fall. Perhaps someone can help us find housing; we are looking for a, studio, small house, 1br apt., or small casita, furnished, in a safe part of the city, 10 min. walk or busride from downtown, secure parking, and of course internet access.

Is it better to arrive in late October or would mid Nov still be an ok time to find housing? And, can anyone recommend a driving route around Mexico City other than driving at 2AM? We offer our thanks to all who can offer us information and help.

You shouldn't have a problem finding a place to rent in mid-November, but I strongly suggest that you wait until you get here because neighborhoods vary greatly. The OLL (Oaxaca Lending Library), the English language library, has a bulletin board of rental listings. It's located on Calle Pino Suarez #519.
I know there are bungalows in San Felipe, which fit what you are looking for, but it's best to look at them personally I think.

Hello Loisanne,
did you see our offer? (http://www.mexconnected.com/perl/foros/gforum.cgi?post=110142).
Sounds like it is all you want. But the main house is only available till the end of december. The casita is available till February 15th.
