If you know ANYTHING about his parents or family OR, better yet, the village or barrio where he might have been born then you might be able to trace his relatives via the neighborhood Catholic Church (as mentioned by a previous poster). As an amateur genealogist, I've found the Catholic Church baptism records to be almost always excellent and complete. A baptismal record often lists grandparents (and sometimes the grandparents place of birth) on both sides and witnesses (testigos) who are usually family or friends. Many genealogical records are becoming searchable via Internet, and Mexico has been careful about physically archiving and preserving the original records. Once you know more family members and their locations, then the search becomes a bit easier, but probably requires that one eventually go (or send someone) to those locations and begin asking around. Families are not very inclined to give any personal information via phone, email or mail. Your son's father may not have told hardly anyone about your son, so any inquiries might encounter resistance. I hope for your son's sake and your own, that you are successful and find the father. I commend you for attempting this. JuanCha de: Santa Fe NM, San Cristobal de Las Casas Chiapas, San Diego CA
