I, for one, am extremely pleased with the consolidation of these forums. We live in Ajijic but just bought a new house in San Cristobal after looking first in Merida. What´s great about the Chiapas Highlands, among other things, is that it gives us easy access to both the Southern Pacific and Gulf/Caribbean coasts. While we will be splitting our residences between Ajijic and San Cristobal for now each year, we are huge fans of the Yucatan Peninsula and Oaxaca State and plan to visit these places often as we have in the past. It strikes me that most who post remarks concerning Southern Mexico are as interested in this entire region as are we. There were some lively posts on the General Forum in the last couple of days regarding this region which went there because this forum was not yet up and running. I hope the rest of you living in or planning to visit this most beautiful part of Mexico (IMHO) will support this move on David´s part and turn this into an active discussion group. Meanwhile, I need to keep a foot in Ajijic so I can pick up my semi-annual supply of Best Foods Mayo, Maille Dijon Mustards and Cornichons, Valley Lahvosh Armenian Cracker Bread and other expat goodies at Super Lake in San Antonio Tlyacapan which is to us expat retards as the Vatican is to Roman Catholism and probably the best specialty market in Mexico for its variety of both U.S. and European imported products. I also need to maintain a residence at Lake Chapala so I can bug the Lake Chapala Society and Amigos del Lago.
