Merida license plate question

Can't Post | Private Reply
Does anyone know for sure if a US citizen on an FMT renting in Merida can license a Jalisco plated car in Merida? It's OK in Jalisco, but each state has its own laws. Need to know before Thursday, so if anyone out there has specific answers to this question only, I'd appreciate it. This car will not be driven to the US but will only be used in the Yucatan peninsula.

Georgia, I think I am the only Merida Resident on this forum and I do not know. I have a FM3 and so does anyone I know. The last few days they have announced that they will be cracking down on expired out of state(Mexico nationals) plates on cars that belong to residents who live here. You would have to apply for Yucatan plates by 2009. Post your question on Merida Insider as there are quite a few Merida residents on that forum. Some of them must have Mexican cars and FMTs.

Thank you so much for your response. I'll try the Merida Insider.
