Looking for Contacts and Housing in San Cristobal de las Casas

Hi! My husband and I have been living in Patzcuaro, Michoacan and are interested in coming to San Cristobal de las Casas for one to two months. We'd love to make contact with other expats in this area, and would appreciate referrals as to properties there that could be available to house-sit or rent during October/November. I stayed for a month at a lovely house in a perfect location 3 blocks to the market and 2 blocks to Santa Domingo and the start of one of the pedestrian malls. In addition the owner, Sherry Klein could not have been more helpful. In fact I almost feel that she is a friend even though we have only communicated by computer and Skype. Her property manager Bela Woods lives down the street and has lived in San Cristobal for a long time. She too was very helpful. and can help you with day trips or what to see and do in town.
It might have been a little expensive but we saved loads of money by cooking most meals in her fully equipped kitchen. The market is so wonderful that we went every day. There is wifi hookup, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths a fireplace with wood provided. There is a small but pleasant yard and we were able to bring our pets. A maid as well as a general purpose handyman and gardener comes in once a week. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have and I am sure Sherry will also answer any inquiries quickly

You might try contacting "Hound Dog", a member on this forum. He and his wife alternate between their homes in San Cristobal and Ajijic. He possesses a wealth of knowledge on both areas and could possibly assist you.

Thanks for this lead... but this property is rented during this period. Thank you for this however, and any other leads will be appreciated.

Bela Wood, the property manager, has other places that she looks after. She also runs a bed and breakfast. I did not look at them but you can email her at verybela@gmail.com It is very posible that she has a place or knows of something that might meet your needs.
