Isla Mujeres - Artist Project?

Can't Post |
Anybody have any more on this project? They are 'painting the island' . There is a german company called Brandorama Network (Sr. Morales-de La Cruz) behind it all. They are offering free air and hotel for the artists/sculptors involved.

The Vancouver Sun article is referred to in a new thread on an excellent message board for Isla Mujeres at

http://www.isla-mujeres.net/wwwboard/index.html if you donīt already have it.

(Not trying to get rid of you!! This is an excellent Isla board with an excellent webmistress. You have to register the first time but itīs well worth it.)

Isla is trying to get over its 30-something percent average hotel occupancy and is trying any and everything. Cancun used to be part of Isla Mujeres and they have always been like a step child while Cancun grew and prospered Isla was for "daytrippers" and never grew. Now I think the shoe is on the other foot and I look for Isla to grow a lot in the next 10 years--not on the island itself but part of "Isla Mujeres"(the government entity--"Municipio"--which corresponds roughly to a county in the States) is on the mainland and it is being developed quickly--mostly horizontal ecological resorts on beautiful beaches on the mainland just beyond Punta Sam. It will grow pretty much as the Riviera Maya south of Cancun has grown--if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the pointer Jim,

If this Isla Mujeres thing doesn't work out maybe I'll just come down, park my winnebago in your driveway, and paint a giant cocodrillo on the side of your house! Will throw in a tattoo for a nice cold beer.

Little does he know you live out in the middle of the jungle, where he will nover be heard of again. After you get the crock and tatoo of course.

Isla mujeres paint project. I would wait and not invest any money into it, until it is a definate go.

Are you a tattoo artist? Do you know any in Isla or Cancun?
