Gringo nexus in San Cristobal de Las Casas?

Can't Post | Private Reply
Hello all, I moved here a week ago and am wondering if the local gringos have a way to meet and keep in touch with each other. I don't expect the Lake Chiapas Society, but maybe a weekly/monthly breakfast?

Any help from those in the know would be appreciated.

No , such thing. People get together when there is a Los amigos de San Cristobal meeting or a show opening at the few galeries or some other events.
People do not move to San Cristobal to get together with other foreigners, if it happens fine if not fine too. There are few foreigners who live there all year round and they know each other by name or sight but there is no Lake Chapala Society or anything like it for sure.

Lots of ski masks people when it is cold but none when it is warmer.

Have fun exploring. Go to Moxviquil for a walk in the hills
Hike between Zinacantan and Chamula (without a camera) .When in indigenous territory ask at the Municipal Hall if it is ok to do so and ask them which path you should follow. Some areas are more or less friendly some are not.
